Hi,
I recently installed a new 8400 GS PCI-Express graphics card into my system consisting of P4 HT 3Ghz, 1 GB RAM, and XPSP2. I use K-Lite codec pack. While playing videos encoded with x264,i have a wierd problem. Some green and yellow color bands appear on either side of the video.Thinking it has a problem with the decoder, i changed it from COREAVC to FFDSHOW from the codec settings, but the problem still persists. So i tried to play the video in VLC but had the same result.Any idea whats happening?? Other videos encoded with xvid ,divx play absolutely fine..

This is indeed a weird problem. Can you post a screenshot of what's happening. Also, are you sure you know are configuring the codecs properly in MPC?

Try playing it with Zoom Player. Also, see if removing the graphics card solves the problem.
