Well my friend had 2 3 partitions,all ext3.
He had 2 primary partitions, lets say C,D and one logical say E.
Linux was installed on D and E was also accessible, but C previously had windows which he had formated to ext3 long ago.
Now he wanted to utilize the space of that C partition thus he edited the Master Boot Record thinking that it would work as format a partition.
It so happened that now the MBR sees that there are only 2 primary partitions and no logical partition.
Even the Linux OS on D is not getting booted.
So i think the only option he has is to reinstall everything.
However he had some very important data on the D and E partitons which he wants to recover, but i dont know how.
So is there a way to recover the data on D and E or better yet put everything as it was before.
Thanks
