+1 for Sam and Jas. My friend's Asus G31 board is sleeping at the Rashi's service centre in Goa for last 1 month. Still no response from them

I think MSI 890GXM-G65 @7k is a better option. This one supports both SATA 3 and USB 3, so a better future upgradability. It is also having 2 PCIX X16 (X8 in CF), so OP can also go for Crossfire in future. The price point is also very good. So it offers better performance and a very rich feature set in a very good price

So does 890GPA-ud3h :).

but it cost 2k or more over the MSI. any standout feature on it that makes it a better option than the MSI (worth the 2k extra over MSI?). its ATX. MSI mATX. anything else?

Bt wats the brief review of M4A89GTD Pro.. do u hv any idea ?
I like the ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3.
Good motherboard that has the ASUS dual intelligent processors and allows good overclocking and low power consumption too.

Compared to msi with gigabyte? GBT stands with the fist sky high :p
There are many but keeping the technicals aside, the msi board comes only with 5 sata 3 connectors and no sata 2 connectors whereas the gigabyte counterpart comes with 6 sata3 and 2x sata2 connectors. Compare the specs you will find few differences. Compare both the boards and you will find many cost cutting tacts being done on the msi board.

Even if I see it from your point of view and keeping everything why spend 7k on this msi board and why not 785GMT-UD2H/US2H???

Either people are reading it wrong or the OP didn't express his issue properly. As far as my understanding goes:
@ Rohit2hell: Your ASUS M4A78T-E is with rashi and Rashi doesn't have the same model, therefore they are giving a credit for which he can choose another asus alternate. Rashi can't give msi or Gigabyte, can they? So what's the point in suggesting msi board? Or does the OP wants to throw away the credit and take it as a loss? IMO if they are offering a credit you should take it. They are offering you a 890GTD PRO in its place and you wanted to compared to your older board, is it better?
If this is the situation, will you be paying extra for 890GTD-PRO? Let me know if this part is right so far.
Also, which cm 600w? If its extreme series, throw it away. You should be happy that the only thing that died was you board, but only time with stress-testing will say whether other parts are working under load.
((Now everyone will say the same thing in their own "exotic" way of saying this but what the heck))
Putting up vague comments will create confusion amongst the "great and powerful" (although its strange that a simpleton like me was able to see it through :p). Make proper posts and accordingly you will get a proper advice.

Edit: If you don't want to, your call. Just keep in mind that chances are high that you would go through this all over again and if a components is burnt out, warranty is voided.
------------------------
to rest of the folks: My earlier point was to highlight that 890GPA-ud3h is a better buy and it justifies few differences. I haven't seen 890GTD-PRO so can't say anything about it.

if ur PSU is of "Extreme" series by Cooler Master, then u should at least go for VX 450W by corsair @ 3.7k
but VX 550W is recommended costing 1k more

Some corsair unit's quality has dropped down for sometime and failure rate of such unit increased accordingly, but corsair is planning to replace them in the near future, not sure how they will be.

You get seasonic Seasonic PS S12II-430 about 3.8, and Seasonic S12II-500 for about 4.3k. For now, stick to that.
