local area connection not visible

hello friends can you help

i am working a friend's pc with windows server 2003 install,
its work fine with all aplication but the problem is the local area conection icon not visible in my network place property or in system tray, in every restart its required to start manualy services like computer browser sevice, server service rpc call and other related service even i set them as automatic start, after start services manualy lan and sharing working great but local area connection not visible, i can access workgroup computer and client pc also access server fine.
aslo new conection wizard in my netwrok place property, not working

where is the problem can any body help us to resolve this problem

Go to Network Connections > Right click on the LAN icon > Select Properties > Check the box stating something like show icon. (I don't remember the actual statement, as I'm on win 7 can't say it)

thank for your reply But lan icon not visible there , any other suggestion

Right off the assembly line
go to device manager and select the ethernet driver and uninstall it
restart the computer and reinstall the driver

are you sure you had the LAN driver installed without any issues
