Hi Experts,

I am looking for a laptop with the following specifications
- weight less than 2.5kg
- intel core i3 processor
- 3/4 GB RAM
- min 250GB hard drive with a 5400rpm spin speed
- 14 inch display
- Graphics unit Nvidia GeForce GT 400M or ATI Radeon HD 5000M series
- battery with 3-4 hrs charge
- trackpad with textured finish, keypad with curved key design

I am currently looking at Acer Aspire V5 and Sony Viao S series in the price bracket Rs. 30K to Rs. 40K. Please advise if there are any more choices available in the same price bracket.

Thanks,

Sony VAIO T Series SVT13113EN Ultrabook Core i3 (2nd Generation)/4GB/500 GB SATA + 32 GB SSD/Win 7 Home Basic - Sony: Flipkart.com
Lightest (1.7 kg) - no graph though. Will get around 3-4 hours on normal use.

Samsung NP300E5X-S01IN Laptop (3rd Gen Ci5/ 4GB/ 750GB/ DOS/ 1GB Graph) - Samsung: Flipkart.com
4-5 hrs battery life, Gefore 610M, 3rd gen i5, 2.3 kg - decent balance between performance and portability.

Don't go for Acer IMHO. Get Sony/Samsung/Lenovo/Dell/Asus.

Hi Experts,

Thanks for all your suggestions, I had a look at each one of them and below are my findings:

HP Pavilion G4 - is too big (dimensions) for me, I am looking for not just light but also a handy laptop.
Sony VIAO T series - i did not like the looks really, the keys seem to be too large for the laptop body or may b they stand out as they are black in color, also I did not like the frame for the screen.
Samsung NP - is too big (dimensions) for me, I am looking for not just light but also a handy laptop.

While looking at the above I came accross two more laptops which I can say I would like to own, but they are like beyond the extremes of the specs i mentioned below.
Samsung NP530U3B-A02IN @44000/-
HP Pavilion 14-B104AU @24000/-

Please let me know of your advice on buying them and their value for money.

Note: My usage is as below
- internet browsing
- watching videos
- regular music playback
- work on MS Office
- occasional mid range gaming
- occasional movie watching
(I knw I should hav put this earlier, but I think its better late thn never ;)!!

Thanks a lot,
Diptee
