LGA 1155 chipset

I am planning to build a mid range gaming PC with i5 3570/3550/3470/2500k/2500/2400(too many choices :D, Will suit myself).

My biggest concern is the motherboard. I really have no clue which chipset is most suitable. B65, H61, Q67, H67, P67, Z68, B75, Q75, Q77, H77, Z75, Z77. All of them look fairly similar from a practical standpoint. Please suggest why(or why not) prefer one of them.

My only special requirements are USB 3.0 and SATA 3.0. I don't plan to overclock or use crossfire/SLI.

Thank you.

H61, H67, P67 and Z68 are of LGA 1155 socket type. They were we initially launched to support Core i series 2nd gen. processor (processors with naming ix-2yyy, eg: i3-2100, i5-2400, i7-2600, i5-2500k, i7-2600k)
And they also support current 3rd gen Core i processors (processors with naming ix-3yyy, eg: i3-3200, i5-3550, i7-3770, i5-3570k)

B75, H77, Z75 and Z77 are of LGA 1155 socket type too but were launched with 3rd gen i core processors, with some improved and better features like Native USB 3.0, PCIe3.0, etc.

k series processor (i5-2500k, i7-2600k, i5-3570k, i7-3770k, etc) can be OCed where as non-k processor (i52400, i5-2500, i7-2600, i7-3770) can't be OCed.
H61, H67, B75 and H77 boards dont support OCing, so pairing a OCable 'k' series processor with these boards is useless.
P67, Z68, Z75 and Z77 boards support OCing (P67 doesnt have onboard graphics support so you are bound to use a graphics card with P67)

As your requirement is just USB3.0 and SATA3.0, so a B75 or H77 board will do fine. Z77 board is not needed as you wont be OCing.

Mention your budget for motherboard and processor.
Also post your full budget for complete rig.

@ OP - if you don't have any budget issue then i5 3570 and ZH77A-G41@ 5.9k or P8H77-M @ 8.5k or M-Pro at 9k.

Spending 9k for H77 wont be a good option IMO.
AsRock Z77 Extreme4 is a good option for 9.5k.

I guess B75 will be just fine for my requirements.

I plan to buy by the end of January. Will get in touch with local dealers in Delhi(Wazirpur) and get back regarding full rig configuration.

Thank you.
