Laptop/Netbook

Fayad

Right off the assembly line
need a laptop/netbook for basic usage..

considered the asus eepc intel dual core for 15.5k and external dvd drive for 2k, so total 17.5k

and a toshiba 14'' laptop(dual core processor, 2gb ram, 320gb hdd) for 18.5k.

Which one would perform better? Leave aside the battery backup of a netbook, what are its other advantages over the above spec laptop with respect to performance?

Portability is the main advantage of the netbook, also lower power consumption. Just enough for all basic purposes. If you can up your budget to 22k, you may want to look at HP dm1-3014au.

More power than almost all netbooks and great battery backup.
