laptop for my sister

my sis has gone to usa for phd so she needs a laptop.I have searched some models mainly lenovo and come across 3 models:-

1)IdeaPad Z570 Laptop - 102434U--------$600

System Components
2nd generation Intel® Core™ i5-2410M Processor ( 2.30GHz 1333MHz 3MB )/
Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64/Intel Integrated HD Graphics 3000/

2) IdeaPad Z470 Laptop - 102246U-------$650

same as above only different specs are
Total memory--8 GB PC3-10600 DDR3 SDRAM 1333MHz
Display--14.0" HD Glare with integrated camera 1366x768
Hard Drive--750GB 5400

3)Lenovo G470 Laptop - 43282UU----------$600

same as first one except it has 14" display and a blue ray drive

my preference is second one.(my sis will mainly use it for office work,photo editing, watching movies , multitasking etc).I know these r somewat overkill but they r future proof.(since she will have to use the laptop for atleast 3 yrs)

So wat do u guys think.all suggestions are welcome.(other brands r ok except dell(poor build quality) )

Well, a Blu-Ray drive might help your sister (of 3rd config) but yeah the first config might be a bit better as it has a bigger screen in Photo Editing

Look for Z570 59-304308. It is 15.6inch with 4GB DDR3 RAM and 750GB HDD powered by Intel i5-2410M.
This one costs around 40k.

BTW from where is she going to buy the lappy?

Surely its upto your sister whether she needs extra 250GB space and whether she wants 14" or 15.6".

4GB extra RAM wouldn't make much difference and its would be cheaper to get a Corsair 4GB stick and put it in.

In USA your sis should go with Buffelo or Dell or Tosiba laptop.

i am now leaning on the first one. as it has bigger screen,she already has a 500gb external so i think extra 250 gb is not that essential.8 gb ram is overkill i think.(cant put extra ram as it would void warranty) .Will take 3 yr warranty for extra $70. all pricing are from lenovo site after applying coupons etc

my sis doesn't play games so she doesn't need a gfx card.

Yes, Photoshop will be very happy if it gets a dedicated card.

i too want a laptop of that sort additionally with a dedicated graphics card coz i do a lot of 3d modelling and rendering works..
