Laptop for 15k

Hi all,

My driver wishes to buy a laptop within 15k and has asked for min 4gb
Ram.
What would you suggest in this budget that is worth purchasing and will not be a hassle after a few months?

I checked overcart.com but they aren't accepting single orders. Amazon and flipkart are of no use and ebay.in is dead. Might have to check on paytm or local shops if they are willing to sell any used (not refurbished) 6th gen i3 (6006U or 6100U) laptops for that price.

Maybe check used market for 6-12 months old 6th/7th gen i3 laptop. At 15k, no new laptops are worth the price.

Don't buy this, this model is very old.
and this laptop is very thick and heavy.

Only model available is this. I wont trust this with my own money.

Check olx for used laptops in your city,meet the seller in some public place,check the laptop condition using some softwares & then decide.

Well OLX might be risky business for my driver to get into, how would he check for genuinity?

Olx suggestion was assuming your driver has some technologically knowledgeable person to accompany him for the deal,if that is not so then maybe try some big laptop repair shops as they sometimes deal in second hand/repaired laptops.

I don't think he will have some one with sound knowledge to accompany him.
He was suggested Acer A315-21 laptop with Amd E2 9000 with win 10 home sl.

I have no clue about apu performance hierarchy so I am back here again.

This laptop with 4gb ram 1tb hdd was quoted for 23590.

Acer website shows the model for 400$
Amazon india is showing it has linux.

Anyone has any clue if this pricepoint is justified for this build or should more options be looked at.

You can find a cheaper laptop with 7100u instead. No point in going for that acer laptop. I though he had 15k budget.

Stay away from any AMD CPU except for Ryzen ones. Get one of these instead of AMD APU one for under 24k, they are on offer currently:

If a laptop costs $400 in the US, expect it to cost 35-40k in India at least. There's a great Acer laptop in the US at $380 which is better than all laptops in India under 35k.

Companies like micromax & iball are a risky bet for laptops.Best case scenario they may work for 2-3 years,worst case scenario they will be junk after 1 year warranty is over as availability of their serviceable parts is very low.
