1) What is your budget?*(INR or USD)
Answer:35-40k the lesser the better

2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer?
Answer : I think I can handle a mainframe so 15.6 would be ideal

3) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
a. Like: Don't know much about brands so everybody's opinion would count
b. Dislike:No local brands please

4) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?*
Answer : Normal browsing, watching movies, coding, playing games
About games: Personally I needed a gaming laptop but due to my budget I won't be able to so want to capture maximum in this budget
I just want it to let me play games which are released till date even in low settings or if it not possible it should be able to play games released till December 2012 ( I am assuming the later the games releases the better gpu it needs)

5) What screen resolution(s) & type (glossy/matte) would you prefer?
Answer : Don't know about it whatever suits in my budget

6) Anything else you would like to say?*(eg: local purchase, ASS,matte/glossy finish)
Answer : Will by it in 2 days Locally. And I want it to have a 3rd generation i5 processor. No AMD please.

yea so please someone reply to his doubts and mine too :wink

Samsung laptops are good, dont worry. Sound is adequate for a laptop(my friend has a 30k Samsung lappy).
I think this laptop is better than the other two as it has better GPU, 6GB RAM, 1TB HDD & even weighs just 2kg but no disk drive though
Samsung NP370R5E-S05IN Notebook ( Intel Core i5-3230M/6 GB/1 TB HDD/ Win8/ 2 GB Graphics-AMD-8750M /15.6 Inch) - Buy Online @ Best Price | Snapdeal.com

If u need disk drive, then get this one for gaming......bit better GPU than other two but still not better than the one in above laptop, also processor is weaker than i5, but enough for gaming & will not be a bottleneck for the GPU
HP Pavilion G6-2312AX Laptop (APU Quad Core A10 4600M- 4GB- 1TB- Win8- 2.5GB Graph) - Buy Online @ Best Price | Snapdeal.com

Get any one of these. Also don't worry.....I say your laptop will run all games for next 2 years atleast.....

Can you suggest some with a 3rd generation i5 processor with a disk drive too.. I can compromise a bit on gpu though

How are these? Any reviews link here on think digit forum or any other trusted site?
Which one would be better?

*m.snapdeal.com/product/hp-pavilion-g62202tx-laptop-3rd/630476

I would recommend first one, as it has 1TB HDD, my personal preference. But for upgrading to 8GB RAM afterwards, you'll need to buy 2x4GB RAM & remove presently equipped 2x2GB RAM.

Otherwise, get the second one. Afterwards buy an external HDD, when u feel like having more space

These both laptops have AMD 7670m gddr3 in spite of gddr5.. Won't this affect its performance?

And any links of reviews of these on any trusted site?
Or any other option with my required specification in this range?

You won't find any GDDR5 GPU in this range. Snapdeal is a good website, acc. to me. Check for these laptops in Flipkart.

No performance issues, as said earlier, it will run all games for atleast 2 years

I have one more doubt :-(

Almost all the thing between these two laptops are same between 2302tx & 2202tx.. Only differences are:

2202 has 500 GB hard disk

2320 has 1 TB hard disk

And still 2302 is cheaper than 2201.? Why so? Am I missing some major difference between them?

So I think i would go with 2320-tx

1. Got this on reviews on flipkart
'' HP Recovery should ideally be done before any partitions are carried out in the C Drive. Now, I had partitioned the C Drive w/o knowing this and was really worried. HP Executive told me that all retailers have been cautioned and asked to inform the end customers well in advance. However, WS Retail doesn't seem to have put this important piece of information in flipkart. Fortunately (even the HP Customer Care Executive was shocked !!!), I was able to recover the same in DVDs and saved a straight Rs.2000 which would have been charged by HP''
How to do this? What is this all about?

2. Since I will get Windows 8 pre installed will I get a CD of this as well? If no, then in case some files get corrupted or I install Ubuntu for a while how will I get back windows 8?

1) Its regarding creating recovery media of the OS.

2) No, you won't get any media from HP, rather will have to create by yourself. ^

Is given by flipkart or is provided by hp itself so will I get this offer If I will buy it locally from some official hp distributor?
