    1) What is your budget? (INR or USD)
    45k INR

    2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer?
    14" -15"

    3) What are the primary tasks you will be performing with this notebook?
Mostly office work + very casual gaming ( the reason why I have budget above 40k otherwise would have gone for a 30k laptop). Gaming is not a priority, a entry level gpu will work if I can save some bucks.

    5) Any typical configuration in your mind you're eying for ?
Should I wait for 8th gen laptops to enter properly in Indian market? How is 8th gen performance compare to 7th gen? Is it worth waiting for?

    4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?None

    6) Anything else you would like to say?
Most probably I won't be able to import it from US so please suggest only those which are available in India. But if someone import it from US do they have to buy a new charger from India which have an Indian socket and is there anything else to know when importing a laptop from US through a friend?

I am not a gamer so can't say for sure but I think even a 930m should be enough for it in which case there are some laptops from asus that comes for ~33-35k with 930m.Just search in amazon & flipkart using price-wise sorting & look for nvidia 930m in specs. However you would be compromising on processor which will most likely be a 5th/6th gen i3.However for office work even that should be more than enough.

Since I can get a 7th gen i5 within my budget, should I go for it along with 930m?

Which model are you getting for 7th gen i5+930m,post a link here?

If you have a laptop or access to a laptop adapter, just see & you will notice something like "AC100-240V" printed on laptop adapter.Only thing you need is a simple socket/plug convertor as US sockets have different pin holes/type.

Tell your friend to take the laptop out of its packing, carry it in laptop carry bag in his cabin luggage & just declare it as his personal use item at Indian customs.Don't offer to show invoice of purchase even if your friend has it.Usually customs officer don't look too hard at laptops carried by a typical flyer.

You won't get good 8th gen laptops in India for your budget. (700-800$ is getting converted to 70-80k INR)

The thing is Acer laptops in India don't have as good build quality as their US selling models.Even on flipkart reviews the top comment states it.I wouldn't spend 47k on a laptop from Acer unless I have personally seen the model's build quality with my own eyes. Also Acer has this very restricted upgrade policy where they put warranty void stickers on ram/hdd openings so a user can't even upgrade ram/hdd by himself without voiding warranty & getting it done at authorized service centre/authorized dealer will cost you extra.

I don't understand why you would want to spend 47k on such laptop. With your requirement of office work+casual gaming why not look for a better build quality laptop around 40k.Only plus point of this acer laptop is 8th gen core i processor but even a 6th/7th gen core i processor is more than enough for your requirements.

My friend bought Asus A541UV (i3 7100U, 920M) last month for ~26k (after paytm cashback). It has a 1080p TN panel and is sufficient for your usage. Speakers are surprisingly loud.

My field of work sometimes requires some processing power which I am afraid i3 processor won't be able to handle.
I get your point regarding Acer and I'll not get it but need to go for minimum 7th gen i5 plus a basic graphic card like 940mx.

940MX is not a "basic graphics card" at least in India(for that 920m is there). As for i3 not able to handle load, are you saying this after seeing 80%+ cpu usage on applications you intend to run or just guessing based on your current system/laptop cpu usage(in which case mention it for comparison with 7th gen i3).

Yes 940mx isn't the basic but I was comparing it with GTX 1050 which was discussed above. I am just guessing about the i3 part, currently I am using i5-4570 on my desktop with 8 gigs of rams and it falls behind many time on the work load, and the work load is gonna increase if few things goes my way in coming nearby future so honestly thats why I want to go for a good processor to be on a safer side.

Then you probably should aim for 7700HQ at the minimum and increase your budget.
