Sorry I do not know what the log means, but I only use Azureus. Ktorrent sucks big time. tried it in SuSE.
See here *ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Ubuntu:Feisty

i haf no clue about the error. that log is cryptic for me. but all i can see is that some libraries are involved. try removing, purging and then reinstalling ktorrent.

you may also try deluge bittorrent client

Disabling DHT stops KTorrent from crashing.

By the way its a new bug which applies only to *buntu distributions
*bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144416

Its related to Wubi as well, in case you're using it:

UPDATE: FIXED! The error is with the Ubuntu that is the EXE version (*wiki.ubuntu.com/install.exe/Prototype). I installed from the CD that i recieved from Ubuntu (7.04) and uninstalled the exe one. and the problem is no more!

And this has been fixed in version 2.1.4. So upgrade to that.
