Knoppix Linux Version Sound Card Configuration Problem

Right off the assembly line
The knoppix linux version given in Sep 2004 digit magazine is detecting the VIA sound card in ASUS A7V266-MX motherbord. But after login, while trying to configure the sound card it is not detecting. What could be the problem?

Y did u post abt linux heer ... Quick bfore posting issuez on linux just remember the place to be posted 8)
