1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')

Ans:For a totally newbie and school student. Just want to learn MSOFFICE PACKAGE(2003), INTERNET, WINXP(AS PER SCHOOL).Basic and LOGO.
Will be introduced first time to video games like Mario Forever,Flash games and similar types.


2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans:12k, max 15k(STRICT)

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans:Not at all

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans:Win xp

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans:160GB

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.

Ans:YES, 16" LCD with native resolution 1920X1080.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans:UPS.

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans:in a week

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans:by me only

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans:kolkata. yes buying locally. I am open to online buying if necessity arises.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: Both INTEL & AMD are welcome.

good suggestion but required a monitor also within that budget. i understand that HD will not come.

Instead of A6 3500 if i go for INTEL GS620 OR ATHLON II 260 how will it be?

why are u calling me "SIR" ?

A6 3500 has a powerful gpu, For your purpose dbmg configuration is very good.
you can even play new games at medium to low settings.


for monitor you need to spend around 5.6k for samsung B2030 if budget is problem you can find 15 inch 2nd hand CRT for 900/-.

Its because of:
1. Age difference of you & me.

Going wiith G620 or athlonII 260 makes very little sense, as you will probably need to add cheap graphics card with them.

Take Asus. No good FM1 board from gigabyte is available in India. (you can thank distris)
