Finally, I bought OP3.

OK, I just got the phone today. It is excellent in every possible way, but except three.

Ok, let me be really honest about these.

1) It heats up when used with a back cover ( TPU Case or any plastic case), OK (my bad) otherwise it doesn't heat up.

2) There is some lag in OS itself (not typical lag, but frame drops at times, also the phone struggles to adjust auto brightness at times )

Note: To the gamers- No, I don't play games but I use heavy apps like 3D Modelling apps, long excel sheets, CAD and different Vector tools. So rendering is sometimes limited (also no other phones in this price segment can even perform these)

3) Screen uniformity issue is almost invisible in daylight or to normal use.
I faced the issue only when using the dark mode, at the notification pull down. The right side of the screen is more brighter and grey. But disabling "Adaptive brightness" fixes the issue. With it is being always off, after restarting, the problem seems to fade away.

Note: In both Dark or Normal mode ,with or without Adaptive rightness) the issue stays (but prominent in Dark mode). I tried changing color balance, SRGB, but of no success.

After several fights inside my brain, I decided to go for a replacement and then use it, because I really like everything else. For replacement, I'm just thinking how long it would take.

Also, the phone supports MIDI, I don't know exactly how it can be used. If I could use this with FL Studio or Nuendo as a mixer, it would be great.

No headset, wifi works perfectly. Do check if SSID is broadcasting (not hidden), it is an issue with newer handsets. Didn't anyone face the display issues here?

Have you tried switching to RGB mode?

Yes, I did. Contacted amazon and refund is not possible. They only offer replacement. Also heard somewhere that after replacement I will not be availing '1 year accidental damage protection anymore'. So, it's a bummer.

Anyone thinking of buying DO consider these issues.

take the replacement phone.

it may be that the phone you recieved is faulty after all.

and if you are still not satisfied, sell it for a good price, after all it will be brand new and within warranty.

I have been using the phone since the launch in India. I havent faced the issue 1 & 2 mentioned by OP (@OP - edit your post. There are two of 2s Usually 3 follows after 2). Coming back to the point - don't know what the OP is talking about in 1 and 2. I have played Injustice : Gods among Us and Mortal Kombat X for about 30-40 minutes but temperatures didn't even go up high enough to bother me. The ONLY time I feel it heats up is while charging - I guess thats because of the Dash Charging.

Now the 2nd issue - so far NO LAG whatsoever. I have installed a few apps like Injustice, Mortal Kombat X, Ola, Uber, fb, fb messenger, whatsapp, LINE, Wechat, food panda, Amazon, flipkart and few others. Maybe I haven't installed as many apps as the OP has and thats why dont face the problem. But thats all the apps I need. Maybe in future when the app list grows I can comment on that.

I have no clue of what the OP is talking about the screen uniformity. I know I dont have keen observant eyes but good enough to notice colour shift which I dont.

I finally sent it back to amazon. I wonder how long I will have to wait again for the replacement though. I hope no one else face this kind of issue for OP3. But DO check the screen in the dark for assurance though.

1. Can anyone confirm that Android M and up don't support lock screen widget (Weather or Calendar)?
2. I came from windows and all my time table was on Outlook Calendar. Can't Google Calendar show notifications at scheduled times ? (Before Google calendar used to support multiple A/C but now it's not.)
3. Has anyone noticed OP3 has midi support? How to use that or with what? Can it be used as Vsti Controller?

CM is much much better than Oxygen OS though Oxygen OS is also improving day by day but CM has been a long player in ROM customizations

A long time ago, I used to play around with Roms and stopped after bricking two of my android devices. What features are there in CM over Oxygen (specific)? I heard that on CM, double tap to on still has bugs. Also does CM allows lock-screen widgets?
