I think you still have to pay for the songs that you get via iTunes. 0.99$ per song.

There's a difference between the iTunes player and the songs from iTunes. You obviously need the iTunes player to sync with the iPod; it ships in the box. The songs from the iTunes store are 99 cents each, but that's only in select countries - not in India.

iTunes is the media player offered by Apple which is free. The iTunes Music Store is where you buy your music from and pay 99 cents per song. And like it was mentioned, the iTunes Music Store is not available in India yet.

I see right through you.
Finding Itunes

Itunes can be downloaded (Yes!! Full version) at the apple website. Current version is 5.o And although the songs do cost, the podcasting is quite good.
I use it primarily as a substitue for winamp because i never could find a skin which i really like. It's a supercool jukebox, check it out. For those with an ipod, even better.
