intel d102gc2 motherboard

17inch lcd samsung monitor of (sync master e700 )
logitech keyboard and mouse
sony dual layer dvd writer
a quantak cabinet with smps
a sony floppy drive

frand total of RS35000

the problem with the my configuration is that the onboard graphics with installing the driver provided with the board and without the installing the graphics driver is sluggish......is there any problem in this also the sound driver fails to be installl but with the service pack 2 its working properly

plz respond if u know something

Get urself an update from the Microsoft site. It'll solve ur problem for the sound part i.e u'll be able to install the drivers without SP2.The display being sluggish isnot a prob. But dude 4 the price u paid u cud hav got urself a better config wit an AMD proccy.

I think its with the new Intel motherboards. I do have Intel 915GLVG and faced the same problem. By golly, I tried Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP home, Windows XP professional with SP1 but that darn Audio driver straight away refused to install (asking for higher service packs). Finally Windows XP SP2 solved the problem. I think it works with Windows 2000 Professional too but higher service packs are needed.

I dont see anything wrong with your config but I feel that you overpaid for the same.

Bro let me tell you some thing. the motherboard you have bought has got an in built ATI graphics card which is a rival of the Nvidia Gfx cards. so i don't think you can install both of them in the same comp. any way there must be some option to disable the onboard graphics card so that the external card plays its role well. check the official site of your motherboard for details. And about disabling the onboard graphics card... i'll let you know later because even i'm not sure about that. anyway before that i'm sure someone else would be able to help you with this.

thanks guys ....
for the support....
is it not posssible to run both my onboard graphics card and xfx graphics card simentaneously...
i recently checked for the drivers in the intel site for my mobo ...
theres a update for solving the audio problem...
plus they have provided the ati radeon graphics driver...
am in a dilema whether to format and try to install the new drivers and the nes bios features....
and is the price of config high ....
if yes...
how much would be its actual worth...
thanks again:)

No. You can't keep ur onboard and xfx gfx enabled at same time. You will have to disable one thing. Disable onboard to use ur gfx card.

its not like that. usually the external Gfx cards have more memory and better performance than the onboard stuffs. this is because the onboard gfx card has only the nessacary features and limited memory which is required for optimum performance. in case of a high quality graphics game or a high defined video, the external gfx card should perform better. so for those who have a tight pocket the onboard stuff is more than enough.

Remember: besides all these the compatability is more important.

And about disabling the onboard graphics-> get into BIOS-> goto integrated peripherals-> search for " onboard graphics " or something related to it.-> disable it.

You can use only one graphics driver at a time, either the onboard one or your graphics card, not both. The CPU while processing data, identifies the graphics part and sends it to the graphics card to be processed. you may thus guess it yourself that if there are 2 graphics drivers the CPU may not do its work properly. And anyways a dedicated graphics card will always be better than the onboard one. uninstall the drivers for the onboard graphics and your system will work fine
