iPhone 3G or an Android Device

I am interested in purchasing a smart phone under 15000. Shall I go for iPhone 3GS (Rs.9,999 + Rs.3,000 for an year of unlimited data usage) or any other Android device? I surf the net a little (not much), don't use push mail.

i would say prefer iphone 3G over any sub 15k Android phone..
u can upgrade ur OS to iOS 5... its display,touch, is very nice.. battery backup will be definitely more than Android phone..
moreover games and web browsing is very smooth on iphone 3gs..

There are many people here on TDF who have bought the phone and are using it, they only told that it has 6GB memory

i just checked on phone.. it shows total storage space 3.98GB.. free space 2.54Gb.. i preassumed that this space is left after music and apps both.. anyways.. 2gb is seperated for APPS.


bt IMO still iphone 3GS wud b better than Xperia U.. else depends on OP

Erm...to those people complaining about memory limitation on Xperia U, I would like to ask them how much memory does the 3GS have?

it all depends on your love for apple experience. Do you like Apple iOS over Android or Windows, then 3GS is perfect for you. if you don't, then there is a big range of Androids out there you can choose from.

3gs is also has limited memory of around 6-7 gb for apps and data. The U has 4 for multimedia and 2 for apps, adds up to 6.
U would be better and I would surely recommend that. Almost 4 times the pixels on a same screen size. Better cam. Better OS(IMO). Freedom. Dual Core(Faster). Better looking.

Well If you are buying phone for playing game than surely go for Iphone 3gs.
Cause it plays Temple run and few other games alot smoother than my Xperia U

your insulting Xperia U. Its a dual core powered, 5 MP, 3.5 inch, upgradable to Android 4.0.

Xperia U has got everything perfect except for the storage, iPhone 3GS is a three year old device, its no-where comparable except for iOS. a better comparison would be Galaxy Ace and 3GS.

now that is a nice discussion friends! i am not a fan of ios. i have not used any ios device till now. i have only used Nokia symbian devices till now and am using N73 Music edition and 5800 express music. i don't play games on phone. so that is irrelevant. only music and that too not very often.
btw, should i wait for nokia windows 8 devices ?
