Firecracker to the moon
Apple's new iPad uses chips made by Qualcomm, Broadcom, Samsung Electronics and other semiconductor makers, according to a firm that cracked open one of the devices. The newest iPad went on sale in Australia early on Friday, and at the front of a line of fans hoping to get hold of the 4G-ready tablet computer was a tinkerer from California gadget-repair firm iFixit, who quickly took one apart for a Web blog. Supplying parts for Apple's iPhones and iPads, the industry's gold standards, is considered a coup for chipmakers and other manufacturers. The iPad includes a Qualcomm LTE cellphone chip as well as a Qualcomm wireless modem for 3G and 4G. Broadcom supplies a semiconductor handling wireless tasks like WiFi and Bluetooth, according to iFixit. Fueled by cans of carbonated caffeine drinks, iFixit cofounder Luke Soules' at a Melbourne computer shop found that Apple suppliers Qualcomm, Broadcom and Samsung have maintained their key roles in the newest iPad.

Beg to disagree. I sold my iPad2 because after moving to an Android device, the iPad seemed extremely crippled and incapable of doing simple things properly without needing to be hacked.

Yes,i agree only to that point of doing simple things.
I just wish apple understands the need of things like bluetooth.
Then at least customization

Ipad3 has introduced 1 more feature this for the first time... It heats alot.. Soon apple need to find some solution..
One post on Apple;s forum stated, “The iPad 3 wasn’t hot, but warm enough to be uncomfortable. That plus the extra weight made it not worth the new display to me, as awesome as it is.”

Of course it feels crippled before jailbreak...specially when we only depend on cracked ipas.

I sold my original ipad after a couple of months and was using a GS2 and occasionally a 10 inch tab for a long time...they were ok for browsing or media consumption...but creating even a small presentation was PITA.

Bought the 16GB 3g ipad2 impulsively after the price drop....bought the Keynote and Pages off the appstore...now even the 11inch Air feels bulky!!!
I can get 99% of my regular official work done in the ipad2(which is not even JBed....downloaded Absinthe, but too fcuking lazy even to connect it to a Mac...love the new wifi sync in itunes...perfect for lazy a&s like me)

Android market for tablet is absolutely infantile compared to Appstore.
Even with all the restrictions and arrogance of Apple(some are really stupid, some are necessary to make expensive gadgets idiot proof)ipad is much more productive than any Android tablet any day.

For productivity, nothing beats a 10" ubuntu netbook with an 8hr battery life. ;)

galaxy tab for geeks.
ipad for noobs.
Period.

Galaxy Tab for people who have sufficient time to tinker with their toys and find apps which do not force close randomly.
iPad for people who are busy with their work and expect to get some work done in tablet.

BTW what does the word geek means exactly?
Are they those people who have at least 4-5 keyboards in their Android toy and flash each and every alpha and beta builds that CM9 releases?

Or,are they those self proclaimed devs who gather a bunch of apks and upload that junk at xda as a new ground breaking ROM?

No wonder XDA once (Winmo 6/6.5 days)such a beautiful forum has turned into such a mess.

Must agree.
Every member pretends to be Pro Dev and uploads bunch of stuff from other sources...most of them proving piece of sh%#.
Cant agree any more than this.
