Internet problem

Internet on my laptop has stopped working. it is a wifi connection.
i am able to use this connection on every other pc and mobile device.
On my laptop it shows that it is connected but i am unable to surf the net or download anything.
In network and sharing center we can see "Internet Access" but it's not working !!!
I use windows 8.

See if you can access after changing DNS 8.8.8.8 OR 4.2.2.1

Just delete the wireless connection and add it again, it should work.

Changing the DNS values worked !!!
Any idea on what was the problem ??

n deleting and re-adding the connection did not work !!

The DNS servers of your ISP probably were down. Hence when you changed to Google DNS your internet started working again.
