well with the dawn of intel gma x3000 series.with 256 mb memory and supporting shader model 3.0 it has stepped in to the new era of integrated gfx.
which means many new recent games like mcrae dirt type games can get played with this.

now the question arises which one to opt for onboard gma x3000 or any other third party gfx.

please do mention your views.
thanks.

I have X3000 and its not that great. It is good at playing games like NFS MW,max payne et all but games like FAR CRY and FEAR are not at all playable. So if you have money go for a dedicated graphic card.

Which drivers dude? Can you give some link?
edit:got the link

Although far cry was running smooth but there was blue colour in place of white sands so it was like only green and blue everywhere.Tried fear at lowest settings at 800x600 game was smooth but was lagging badly at corners i.e. at texture intensive parts so was unplayable.

Thanks dude.

One more question I have gma3000(Intel 946gzis) not x3000--so whats the difference?

Oops
Buddy thats no use
Because 3000 and x3000 are different
x3000 is only found in G965 boards
X3000 supports hardware TnL and vertex shares 3.0 on hardware
but 3000 doesnot support hardware TnL so many games will not b playable

I have my system based on C2D E4300, ASUS P5B-MX/wifi, Kingston valueram 1 GB DDR2-667, 400 W Powersafe SMPS. I use integrated graphics memory of 256 MB. My mobo(Intel 946GZ chipset) supports Intel GMA 3000 which has Pixel Shader 2.0, Vertex Shader 3.0 (software) & Open GL 1.4 and no Hardware Transform & Lighting. Can anyone suggest me of some good race & action games for my pc.
