Refreshing info, thx a lot, cyrus
Let me divert a bit here, for a budget of around 3.5K, AMDX2 is the only choice, no doubt. What is interesting to observe in these graphs is that within X2s, the performance increase is not linear. It is linear only for synthetic benchmarks. For gaming and other things, X2 3800+ outperforms X2 4000+ in almost all graphs, X2 4200+ outperforms X2 4400+ in almost all graphs. Infact, in some cases, X2 4200+ outperforms both X2 4600+ and X2 4800+. If these results are to be believed, then one can infer:
AMD X2 3800+ is a pretty good proc. at 2,600/-
AMD X2 4200+ at 3,500/- is the best chip within 4K
I am going with X2 4200+
BTW, experts, why the performance increase is not linear?
