I have a problem with internet explorer. Now I use firefox as my default browser, but for testing out the websites, I need to use internet explorer also, so, please understand my using this crappy browser.

Anyway, to get back to the point, whenever I open any page in IE, the page encoding gets set to some Western encoding or Unicode or something and every time I have to change it to User defined. Now how to I get back to my good old IE and keep the encoding normal (user defined). Is there any setting needed to be changed. I also do not have any spyware as i have recently scanned the system....

Please help.

Didn't I mention that I have scanned the system and that there is no spyware? I think I did. (norton antivirus + Lavasoft Ad-aware)

g00d point :!: While uninstalling, IE also provides a repair option - u can try that 2.

But 1st tell me, have you recently installed/uninstalled any software that supports unicode based writing in desi languages (hindi etc.) :?:

Also c if these helps:

1. Control Panel>Internet Options (General Tab)> Accessibility> User Style sheet > uncheck "Format document using my style sheet".

2. Yor fontspecs cud hav been corrupted 2, try fontdoctor 2 fix if needed :!:

If u just need 2 see a webpage rendered in IE engine, use Maxthon & change encoding from d view menu 2 "Western European".

Post feedback...

expertno.1, plz understand ad-aware fails 2 detect "some" cr@ps like cydoor ad-cache etc. Its resident is better though than SSD's tea timer. So 4 scanning I wud suggst Spybot as "the one tool" 2 seek them all...

HJT is the "the one tool" 2 detect them but its mainly IE centric.

 & 1 more thing, the AD-Aware Personal that we get freely is a crippleware as it lacks many features of the Pro/Paid version, whereas SSD is free :!:
