ie/opera blank after sometime in the internet

when i connect to internet. ie /opera displays pages just for a minute then 'page cannot be displayed' though my internet is connecting and sending and receiving packets..whats wrong? anybody help. i ahve set up new xp and browesed internet with that ..but i have many progs in this partition and want to restore it. i have scanned comp from avg, adaware but no avail. msconfig et c also not working..ANY HELP SHALL BE APPRECIATED

Does MSConfig work in Safe Mode?

i think it is the problem with ur win xp cd from which u installed the OS.some files may be corrupted.
these prob arise when u install xp from pirated cds whose files may get corrupted during cd write.

so the only way is to reinstall ur OS from sum other xp cd.
