I wanna be Networked !!!

I want to set up a small home based network.

I mean I want my friend's pc and mine to be connected over a lan. Our houses are on the same lane but "his house is 2 houses to the left of the house in front of us".[Please read agin if u didn't understand].

We both have lan ports and decent configuration running WinXP. I thought about connecting through cables but they would be lengthy and too expensive. So if anyone one of u can provide me with some wireless and affordable solutions/ideas, it would be greatly appreciated.

one of u has 2 buy a wireless router, the other guy a wireless lan card for ur pc.

jus connect one pc to the router, and a card to the other and there will b a wireless netowrk.

if its not widin range, u can buy a more powerful antenna and unscrew the normal antenna....so b sure 2 buy a router wid removable antennae...

i dono about a card but a decent router comes for about 3-4 grand i think
