As a consumer::: Dude go for Ipad.....trust me.....no one is as good as apple in manufacturing hardware for tablets...... specially touch screens!
If you are a developer then ofcourse you will have more wings on the android platform and also more customization options. But if you are not planning to tinker with the tablet......then apple is for you.
Apple products are expensive for a very good reason i believe!

Consider the difference in size also,Tab can be shoved into loose trousers pocket with some difficulties,ipad is absolutely not pocketable!
