I am very Confused..need your Advise my Friends

All my Friends as i write this post believe me, i am utterly confused :C_perplex:

i want to pursue a career in Hardware & Networking & hence i have a few queries i would like to humbly put before all of you.

1] i believe the correct order to follow when pursuing the above mentioned course is -
CompTIA A+
CompTIA N+
MCP
MCSA
MCSE
CCNA
CCNP

am i atleast on the right track when it comes to knowing that this is the order to go by? if not, then perhaps i have been living in a fool's paradise all this while.:-(

2] i am confused which Institute should i join?
CMS or HCL?

i visited the centres of the these institutes in my locality (i am from Goa by the way!) & learnt that the CMS hardware & networking course titled CMS Certified Network Specialist is a 1 year programme.
HCL offers hardware & networking courses under 2 categories -
A] HCL Certified Engineer (HCE) which is a 1 year programme &
B] HCL Certified network Engineer (HCNE) which is a 3 years programme.

i have not got the opportunity to personally speak with a Trainer/Staff Member from any of the above mentioned institutes but i am going to the HCL Career Development Centre tomorrow & hoping to speak with a qualified trainer (the so-called counsellor has sadly been of no help  )

3] another query i have is, what qualification/certification does one need to work with an ISP? for example, when i have a problem with my internet connection i call my local BSNL Internet helpline & they assist me by asking me to enter my DSL settings page & so on & so forth..
i understand that one requires knowledge of networking but which module/course?
i ask this only to satisfy my personal general knowledge

Once again my Friends i look to you all to help me because there is no one to give me proper sense of direction & a strong piece of advice.
My Dad is a Bank Manager & perhaps is helpless with all these type of courses but as always i have his undying support coupled with His great love. He is my Hero.

Friends, i apologise for getting carried away & boring you with this long & mundane post.

But, if i still have any queries & confusions i plead to you to bear with me for i shall keep coming back here looking for help & advise.

Thanking you all much in advance.

I don't think there is any order required for MCP Courses, they can be taken any time and MCP Course is all about basic fundamentals of Microsoft operating system. I myself got certification for MCP in Class IX.
2] i am confused which Institute should i join?
CMS or HCL?
Factors such as faculty and fees are important to consider while joining any institute. I personally think that it does not matter which institute you study from but knowledge is important. Hence I would suggest you to visit both of them, meet with faculty and discuss.
As you are interested in MCP,MCSE Courses, I suggest you to visit the site below *www.microsoft.com/india/learning/ . Scroll down and you will find links for your certification and other relevant details. Also visit *www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/cert-overview.aspx#tab1

Read this as well : *download.microsoft.com/download/F/...0E88D/Skills_Development_White_Paper_2009.doc
Let me know if you have completed Class XII ?

When i had visited the CMS centre in my locality, the Counsellor told me that the entire MCSE programme consists 7 papers, the break down (as per the Counsellor) is as follows -

answer 1 paper you get the MCP certification, answer the next 3 papers you get the MCSA certification & answer the remaining 3 papers you get the MCSE certification.

The Counsellor at CMS also told me that they provide training till the MCSA level alongwith training for CCNA.

i was supposed to visit the HCL centre but my uncle has been admitted in a hospital & is due to undergo a knee surgery, hence i have been preoccupied with family obligations.:-(

i desperately need all your assistance my friends as i want to commence my course before July 2010.

Hey there,
Well, I would suggest to review the sites once again which I have suggested. No, you have not done anything wrong,Since this part of the forum is not active,we cannot expect replies here.
I would say not to worry about Microsoft Certification exams, if you are familiar with the operating system fundamentals. Just read their course book (though looks bulky) and you'll know how easy it is :)

Regarding your Point [3] :
As far as job for telecom customer support is concerned, you have to give an exam on networking which is basic troubleshooting. Mostly whenever I had called BSNL and airtel customer care, it seemed they did not have the technical know-how, they just cram everything and read out to the customer. However in some cases we can expect expert technicians.
Lastly,
Try some aptitude tests on Information Technology. There are a million fields in IT, and thousands in Networking Sector. The thing is you have to find where your interest lies in : troubleshooting, hardware manufacture, hardware management specialist ( like router/modem technology),network software management, network programming, website programming, server side scripting and so on...the list is endless.

As Conqueror said this section of forum is highly inactive and thus ignored but your open, honest and unabashed way of asking help caught my attention.

I exactly know how you feel and where you stand as I was in very similar position at the start of my career too. In my family nobody was an engineer before me, we are all bunch of businessmen :)) so you see there was no one to guide me too.

You will have plenty of questions to ask and make up your mind before you actually get into the thick of things.

The suggestions of Conqueror are good but I know and he also does know that they are not enough.

So , I would suggest you to get in touch with me on messenger for the discussion. Come prepared with all sorts of questions you want to ask and also come with patience as it is going to be lengthy discussion before you are even 40 % ready to go.

If you are interested then reply here and if possible with yahoo or gmail account so that I can add you up on my messenger and fix a time for the discussion

Evolving Rapidly...
In general while joining an institute get an idea of the faculty there, try to get in touch with passouts since they may be a source of inside information.

Hey insaneYLN, well, even I can understand what you are going on with here. Almost everybody feels that way at this stage: not completely sure of what course to take, which institute to join etc.
I would advice you to take advice of somebody who has done such courses, may be in your locality or some friend's relatives/acquaintances (besides of course asking at the forum). You can even try contacting ex-students of the institutes you wish to join.

Sorry, I can't help much with your query but I will be interested to know which path you choose and how does your career goes along doing that. Don't forget to tell a bit about that here, sometime in the future.

Good Luck buddy.
