i've downloaded some files from the links in html file....now that I've downloaded those file, i want to edit those link to point the location in the hard drive!! i know its easy....i'll open the html in notepad and change the url, but I want to open the file in the default directory, so that even if i change the location of the files, the link remain intact???

Whats do u mean by default directory , Is it the directory u place ur HTML files .
Does providing absolute path names solve that .
Please make that more clearer .

That is
<<<, a href = "koli.jpg"> means a relative path
<a href="D:\asp\powe.htm"> means a absolute path
by this a source html file can be anywhere but only works on ur comp.
relative path works on any computer as all files are almost in same directory
