I thought of having a dualboot system on my Vista.. with XP running as the other OS (compatibility probs with lotsa games & programs)... i partitioned my default C: drive in 160GB harddisk (i've another 160GB HD to.. dual HDs
) using Vista's disk management.. the new partition was easily detected & it works a breeze.
Then I'm supposed to install WinXP with it's boot disc.. copying started... & then the surprise.. a message stating that Windows XP didn't identify any HD!!! It read "ANY" harddisk.. when I had two!!! In the bios options(which were all set rightly), I analysed my HDs which were fine in all aspects. But the damn XP wasn't able to detect the HD.
That too after an Ubuntu installation last month happily detected & installed the OS (the Ubuntu is gone now.. & the drives are back to factory condition). Ubuntu realised the HDs but not WinXP!
Any ideas as to what went wrong.. & what can be done... I need an XP installation in my Vistaed HD. Dual booting, Dual partition...
