HP dv6-6165tx i7 Turbo Boost Not Working?

I have the Hp dv6-6165tx with the intel core i7 2670QM processor. I just downloaded this software from intel's website to check if turbo boost was working or no. Surprisingly while playing flight simulator x (widely accepted as a CPU intense game rather than a GPU intense game) the turbo boost monitor did not go above 2.20 GHz which is the standard operating frequency.

I have not reduced the CPU speed in my power settings and I have my laptop plugged in. FSX uses single core and while running the game on ultra high settings I expect to see the turbo boost working.

Also, I have no other programs in the background and 3 of my other cores and on 0-5% only while the game is running.

On a side note, why cant I upload an image to this forum while composing this message? It is of jpeg format and well within the max size specified. Im using google chrome and it says upload of file failed.

While turbo boosted it is supposed to look like this:

You have put coolsense in coolest or quietest mode....try putting it in performance mode and check. If it still doesn't work, check after rebooting.I'm sure it will work then. Also do the above steps in hp recommended or high performance power mode.

Attachment system is not working currently.

Check if there's any setting in BIOS to enable/disable turbo boost.

No,there isnt any such option in hp bios.It all happens due to various thermal modes of coolsense.I'm pretty sure his issue of turboboost will get resolved.

Thanks! It was on coolest mode and that was preventing it from turbo boosting.

Another question: In the coolest mode the fan is spun at high speeds and the processor is not allowed to turbo boost.

I want the fan to spin at the max speed + turbo boost running. This is not available in the HP thermal modes. So I want to leave the coolsense mode to performance optimised and control the fan speed using a third party tool.

Is there a utility that can control the fan speed while I keep my thermal settings on performance mode?

(P.S. Speed fan isnt working for me, help appreciated in using that if it worked for you)
