No need to go to safe mode for scanning.Just open your antivirus window. Select scan , entire computer or individual drives.
BTW which antivirus you are using
frst of all u need a gud antivirus n 2 update it...then there is an option of scanning ur entire drive or selected folders....
u may go for avast free edition n update it...then go for boot time scan....it pretty gud although not d best
if ur av can schedule a boot-time scan (like, say, avast), its the best time.
else safe mode (dont think, say norton can scan in safe mode)
else then normal mode.
More than Safe mode or notmal Boot... what Matters is under any condition, turn of the System Restore and run the scan from one Admin account which has access to portion of the HDDs !!!
