how to remove search history in firefox

i use firefox 1.0. the google search history lists out my previous searches as i type. how do i disable or delete these searches. is there anyway to delete the ones i want.?

You need not disable the search option to clear the search field you can go to

Tools> Options>Privacy>Saved form invitaion>clear

This will do the needed
you can uncheck the box save information I enter in webpage forma and search box then your typed searches will not be logged.
