How to recover older data from multisession CD?

I have a CD that had a few files on it. It was burnt such that files could be added later on(multisession disc). I had given this CD to a friend to burn a few files and now all my old files are lost!!!! When I asked my friend what he did, he says "I don't know"!!!

I had about 110MB of data on it. And the new files are about another 100MB. Now when I access this CD on my puter, it shows only the new files. When I try to access this CD using Nero(just trying to burn a few more files), it lists only the new files, but the "Total space used" is shown as 216MB. It means that the older files are there on the CD, isn't? How do I recover those files?

Has anybody come across this problem? I'm sure quite a few would have faced this problem. How did you deal with this and how do you avoid such mistakes happening again?

Kalpik, thanks for your suggestion, I tried IsoBuster. It couldn't recover my files from this CD(probably, that guy erased the files) but I was able to recover from one other CD(it was not as critical though). Am downloading badcopy to try it out. If it works, well. But what if it doesn't work? What should I do? Should I send the CD to some professional Data Recovery company?

I tried ISOBuster, CDRoller and BadCopyPro. I guess the guy deleted all the files from my CDRW and burnt the newer files. Otherwise, how could such popular software not detect the older files. The guy said that he got "some" error message constantly , so must have had some problem with either his m/c or his s/w. The files he had written have been written repeatedly or that is what ISOBuster et all says. The session shows only newer files.

I downloaded PCInspector and installed it on my relative's PC to which I had copied. I could get almost all the files. Thank you guys for all the inputs. I wouldn't have known where to look for what :)
