how to make dialup like user name/password in broadband dataone.

means we enter user name password in computer (like dial up) and make broad band dataone connection. (modem should not make connection itself when power is switch on.)
any link of such thread in this forum will be helpful.

(what i wanted was broadband modem can only make connection when username/password is enter in computer.
in other words ,every time during connection it should ask for password)

Type 192.162.1.1 in Address Bar

Login : admin
Password : password

Click WAN. Edit the Connection and select connection type = Bridging.

Now make a connection in Network connections

Thats a Braod idea. Dont have time to write long....but if you need more help...just post

download "ras point to point protocol over ethernet" executable from www.raspppoe.com, now install it, click yes when installing wan miniport driver four times, now it will display sussessfull installation, press ok, enter in your dataone braodband username and password, and done! for winxp and 2k, i have tested.
