how to conenct a wi-fi ADSL modem to a wi-fi laptop?

Log in to modem control panel, (usually which is accessible via URL *192.168.1.1) you would need lan interface for which

Now set the security settings as per your need now you may try to access it via any wifi device with that pre-define security settings

which Modem do you have ?

Can you find out the error message by looking at control panel > network conenctions?

it says wireless association failed due to unknown reason.
then says Try connecting to "RT2561_6" again

Is your modem with default settings?
a) Access your modem using *192.168.1.1
b) navigate to wireless setup option
c) look for any security settings options enabled

can you please post the screen of the wireless setup?
