I upgraded to winxp Pro from win98. I have set password to shared drives in win98. After upgrading to winxp, password security remains intact. But when i installed fresh new copy of winxp , i don't found any option to protect shared drives by password. How to enable password protection to shared drives in winxp. :?:

Go to My Computer righ click you get Manage click on it you get Computer Management. In Computer Management go to Local Users and Groups in that create a new user with password or give password on the existing user by clicking over ther user righhand side. Close Computer Management. Go to Control Panel, then Folder Option, in advanced settings go to the bottom you find (use simple file sharing(Recommended). Remove the Tick Mark. Then OK. Now go to Windows Explore right click any folder you get Sharing and Security. Now go to Sharing and Security, share the folder and give permission for which user can access the folder. Remember to remove the tick mark for eveyone.
