Dude, the answer is very silly, but the answer is very correct. Why dont you try it out? or if it isnt what you're looking for, make it clear what you really want.

@Most wanted: What kind of answer are you expecting?!
If that doesn't satisfy you, or if its too complicated, then the internet explorer icon will be there even in the quick launch bar.. Right Click , send to desktop.

Please find the detailed steps for each one ....

A) Internet Explorer

1. Open Notepad (Click Start, Run, type notepad.exe)
2. Cut and Paste the below lines. (Ignore the Start from Here and End Here lines)

# Start from Here

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\NewStartPanel]
"{871C5380-42A0-1069-A2EA-08002B30309D}"=dword:00000000

# End Here

3. Save the file with an extension .REG and double-click it to add the Registry value.
4. Refresh (F5) the Desktop.

B)For My Computer & Reycle Bin

Right Click on desktop -> personalize -> Change desktop icons - Here select which even you want (My Computer, recycle bin etc...)

Hope this is clear...

Dude, your answer is very silly. any one vista expert here?

Is this your first ever experience with computers.
There's isn't much difference between VISTA & XP.
That you tremble when you don't see IE(Internet Explorer) icon in front of you.
How do you know if I am not a Vista expert.
Have u tried this ???? Or just joking around here ........

I dont see a difference... its an IE icon all the same. And double clicking both are gonna start IE only, not any fancy 3d animation with ultra sound effects.
