When I start my system, it takes too long for booting. To optimise the boot time, I used to disable several services that I've never used. I've also been scan my System by Avast Home Edition and McAfee. But still exists. Is this because of Virus or defects of Windows? How can I minimise boot time? My system is as under :
Intel Core 2 Duo; Intel DG33BU Board with E4500 @ 2.20GHz;
1 GB of RAM; XP Professional with SP-2;160 HDD.

wat the above two said is right. maybe u could keep only one antivirus. also the system may be slowing down due to spyware and/or adware. avast and mcafee may not detect these. i too have xperienced probs like these. remove any one antivirus and install spybot search & destroy. its light on resources. run a full scan (this is lengthy) and fix any problems. this should fix your problem. also visit *www.shorttext.com/nehzqp its got general tips to speed up booting and increase response times. hope this helps. :smile:
