i have an AMD Athlon 2400+ with an Asus A7V266-MX motherboard. recently my pc is giving a warning message that the cpu
temperature is high. its threshold is about 60 deg c and the
temperature always wanders around 55-60. i heard from my friend
that particularly AMD cpu's are prone much to these high
temperatures. but, is it true? when i see the cpu usage while
operating my computer, it goes much around 5-10% most of the time
and i donot understand why the temperature is going up.

Amd heating problem has long been taken care of, infact they run cooler than intel processors. Check the HSF is seated properly, clean any dust and see that ur cabinet is well ventilated. I think these are three basic rules to keep ur proc. cool.

me too experiencing same prob with my cpu. Even my mobo temp crosses 60, though I keep my cabinet open both sides......:-O. Shud effect the life of the Cpu. Have to find some cooling solution available in market......suggestions plzz
