I I want to format & reinstall Win XP Pro. The normal way is going in the bios and changing the sequence and making your CD/DVD drive as your 1st boot device and then putting the cd in the drive and press any key and the normal way including the drivers.What II want to ask is there a software which will do all that.I will only put the cd and the software will do the rest. I don’t want to do a dirty install but a clean install :)

:p

I I had installed one software called lovely folders. (This software was installed to change the shape & colour design of my desktop Icons.) But I didn’t find it suitable as all my desktop Icons were flickering & moving vigoursly. Every time I close any software using the ‘X’ command on the top right hand corner, all the Icons would blink & flicker. So I uninstalled the software using the add/remove programme.After removing the programme I found that the colour of all my folders was still the same (blue). I went to the c;\programme folder & deleted the remaining traces of the programme. But till today the colour Blue has not changed toYellow. Please suggest what can be done. It yet keeps flickering when I close programmes. :-?

u have 2 use ur hand 2 insert the CD & choosing which partition 2 format/install XP
after dat the rest of the job will be done by the CD automatically (like entering time/date,user name,accounts,netconnection,serial key etc) 4 dat u have 2 use a
software a windows unattended CD/DVD creator (hmm I don remember the exact name) Google it....

dats lovely...:D users search 4 enhancing there desktop 2 get a full eye candy
(even i do so...but not always;))

4 ur problem i think the shell files are not removed or .dll files which r still there
in C:\windows folder...

use some 3rd party uninstaller or if u know the files manually remove them...

I recommend TuneUp Utilities 2008 or free CCleaner:D

if u want 2 see which files r getting copied in ur C:\windows folder use
winpooch it alerts u of every file dat is going in this folder & also registry changes:cool:

Yeh, if youre so lazy make yourself an unattended setup using nlite, as the real bond says... :) I wonder if you'll go thro the trouble of making and testing an install... :)

That program probably modified your shell. Typical of those cheap programs. Next time try IconPackager from www.stardock.com It doesnt modify any system files For your solution try:
Start->run "sfc /scannow"
