Help with C2D rig

hey guys . i've made up a new rig. suggestions are welcome.

Intel C2D E6400 2.13ghz

asus P5N-ESLI

corsair 1GB 667mhz

. do you guys have any other options for me. or is the abv cinfig good.
i will be purchasing it only in the months of august september. what new options can i expect?

if u wanna buy in August/September then it'll be hard to suggest a good c2d config now cuz many new C2D proccies and new Intel chipset mobos (P35,X38 etc) will be releasing.

Well , keeping the current AMD CPU prices ... u should easily avoid the C2D for some time ... for the price of the E6400 , u should get a X2 5200+ 65W TDP one easily ... coupled with the low mobo prices and RAM ... u can oc a bit to get performance almost better than E6600 under most circumstances ...

btw i wud be getting all d abv from the U.S
my budget is arnd $350-400 for the procc+mobo+RAM
I dont know anything bout OC'ing . so plss avoid that.
i will start purchasing by august sept only . so what kind of options can i expect?.
My main use for the rig is gaming and multimedia and i will be buying a gfx card )7900gt at that time).

anyways . will intel amd introduce any more variants of the dual core procc?

K10 is a new architecture from AMD.Its basically a heavily reworked K8 to put simply.First Quad Core based on K10 will launch in June and then Dual Core versions will follow. :p
