Ok, its better to ask u guys before purchasing a pc based on my list.. not for me, but my friend..
He needs a gaming pc & his budget is around 55-60k.
he expects a quad core processor, with a decent graphics solution & minimum a 2GB ram, based on my suggestion..

So suggest some best configs guys..

Buddy, since he wants it for gaming, I suggest he bump up the RAM to 3-4 GB. Moreover a quad is not all that necessary. A mid-range Core 2 Duo should suffice.

He should rather invest on dual GPUs (SLI mode) and a great monitor. I'll try and post some good gaming config. BTW where does he want to buy it from ? I have few good contacts in bangalore.

getting a quad core right now is a waste as not many games can take the advantage of it. As zombie said he should invest more in gfx.....sli will make a massive difference. Extend ur budget upto 5k and get 8800gt in sli. It'll make a killer PC!

Not exactly...
My 8800GT SLI and my e6750 @ 3.5ghz become sluggish when playing Crysis at High at 1024x768 with full AA.
I'd suggest a go at 4870 or better yet xfire 4850's.
Here's my list
MSI X48C Plat -14.5k
2x 4850's = 24000
2x 2gb 800 Mhz Transcend ram - 4k
E8400 -8750
Tagan BZ700- 7000
Thats 58k~
+ A Cabinet he likes so that makes it 60k even

I agree with you Demonkiller. But instead of Transcen RAM, I would suggest Corsair. And fastest 2x HDD that you can afford. That should take care of everything.

Right off the assembly line
Intel Q9300 - (6MB L2 cache 2.5Ghz 1333MHz FSB) - 12000
MSI P45 Neo - F -6500
PALIT RADEON HD 4850 512MB GDDR3 - 13200
CORSAIR TWIN2X4096-6400C5 (2 X 2GB DDR2 800MhZ C5)-5600
Western Digital 500 GB HDD -3800
Sony DRU 190 A - 1400
Dell SE198WFP 19" - 9400
Cooler Master Extreme Power 600W -3150
Cooler MAster Elite 330 - 1750
UPS-Powersafe 600VA - 2000
Logitech G1 Gaming Desktop - 1400
CREATIVE Inspire M4500 Speaker (5.1) - 2700

TOTAL - 63k

If you can't spend more than 60k go for Intel E8400 - (6MB L2 cache 3.0Ghz 1333MHz) -9000
so Total - 60k

You really nailed that down buddy. But dont you think that dual-GPU set up would be better ?? Esp since you are getting such a good Dell display.

@zombie: Dual GPUs doesnt always mean double the performance.
And get a Quad-Core processor itself. Although the games available now cant make full use of the 4 cores, in the future games will surely need the power of the 4 cores:)
