why not C2D E6600 or AMD X2

and Atleast Nvidia 7900 or more or in two months you will get 8300 in market which is DX 10 and

go for 19" LCD..

s18000rpm

dude when you talk of "Game Machine", then its got to be OVERCLOCKED :wink:

so get
m/b -> ASUS P5B Deluxe (with or without WiFi) --- cost ~12k
RAM-> Transcend DDR2 800 Mhz RAM, or Corsair....
Processor->e6300 Overclock it to 3+GHz:wink:

@ s18000RPM when you talk of GAMING MACHINE :D then it should be future proof.... so E6600 will be a better choice if he wants a future proof gaming, :D :D :D

Motherboard : DG965WH
Graphics Card : Don't buy now. In june Dx10 are coming.
Although what you suggested is a great config but his budget is less than Rs.50000/- and if goes for what you suggested he needs to shell out Rs.6000/- more.

Great config but outside his budget and also he should know how to overclock.

Even I can recommend PC's costing over Rs.500,000/- but remember his budget is LESS than Rs.50000/-

How about having a HT processor on 102 Motherboard of intel with ATI Radeon Graphics, and adding the same chipset Graphics Card of 256 MB more..??

He wants a powerful system, so it should be a C2D or even an X2. HT is obselete now nd a C2d is around 3 times faster.:)

Shantanu i guess we both "Over Shot" the Target Budget:D:D:D

But this Processor is the BEst bet, why not try a low-end version P5b m/b

->m/b=> ASUS P5B V (has Onboard Gfx.) - cost- ~8.5k
->Procy.=>same E6300 - cost - ~8.5k

but dont even think of relying on the onboard gfx.:D

future proof gaming :- They are no such thing called fpg.

Some suggestion :-

1. Monitor :- Samsung 17" CRT = Rs.4500/-

Do not get a 17inch monitor. If you have the money get 19 or 21 inch. If you have more money get a LCD monitor with 8 or 3 ms response time.

2. Hard Disk :- Seagate 250GB SATAII = Rs.3800/-

Game nowdays takes lot of space. Getting a 250 GB is hopeless if you are a gaming freak. If you have the money get a western digital, hitachi or seagate 500 GB HDD.

3. Graphics Card :-BIG Nvidia 7600 GT 256MB PCI-E = Rs.8200/-

What is the point of having Directx 9.0c card now?. It will dead within 7 months. Wait for Direcx 10 cards. It is on the way.

Oh and you are only getting PC in two months. So you have more time by then all the prices of the computer hardware will hopefully be less. If the indian government does not hike the useless vat and useful tax.

yeah u r right... I just wanna hear to the reply whether this combo is good for gaming or not.

Yes the board you mentioned is good enough to play present games. But not future proof as it do not support Core 2 Duo.

If you are not planning for Core 2 Duo, this is ofcourse best motherboard in its catagory.

give gigabyte mainboards a try, the all solid capacitors design is definitely an add-on on system's performance.

if there are no such things as future proff then why people bought 8800 and 7950 cards to play games for one or two months.. no These ae future proff cards.. basically 8800 is a fPG card as VISTA support and all upcoming games support.. this is future proof...

and there are hardwares which are future proff

Proccy:

Intel quad core
AMD QUAD FX

1033 MHZ RAMfrom CORSAIR

1 TB HDD from BUFFALLO and others

8800 GTX from NVIDIA

WINDOWS VISTA

and many more like this

IF THERE are no such things as future proof then why we use latest systems we should go for old vaccum tubes type comps....

you yourself s talking futuristic.. buddy

tomorrow is also future and JAN 2008 it will be more cards with higher FPG standars.. till then 8800 is FPG... :D:D:D

so think before you say!!! :D:D:D

dont take it personally butthe truth is this only
