Help! (PC 2 PC Dial-Up Networking)

Hi there,
I'd like to connect 2 PCs using my telephone line, 1 @ the office & other @ home. I'm using Windows XP SP2 @ the office and Windows 2000 Pro. SP4 @ home. Please help me 2 connect these different envirenments.

I assume u are asking for hyper terminal networking.

First of all, though obvious, you need to have a working modem with land line connections on both the pcs.

Next, start hyperterminal from Start->Run->Hypertrm on both the computers. Choose a name and an icon for ur conection. Fill in the connection setup. Save ur connection for future use. In one of the computers, enable "Call->Wait for a call". This computer will act as the called computer. In the other machine, go to "Call->Dial". Now you will be connected. You can type on the console which will be echoed on the other console. To send a file, go to Transfer->Send file.
Go to Transfer->"Receive file" and select the directory to save received files. Check the help if a bit lost.

well u could also use a better freeware i.e "multicomm"

hmm land line... well do i have to have BSNL land line... as what happens if i am on cdma network... will this work then??

well saurav if your mobile supports then u can dial the number and get connected with HT (hyper terminal)

but will cost you tooooooooo much

hmm but My RIL CDMA phone model LG LSP 340E goes in to the com port... now the phone is it self a modem... hmm... about bill... Reliance to Reliance is free here.... so??
