Help..Partioning Query...(doubt)...

Heu Guys...

I just wanna make sure that is frequent resizing ..deleting and creating partition of a big risk..??? :? :?:
Coz in a week i resize or create or do something to my partition atleast on time.. if nothing ill kust reduce one partition by 1GB and increase other and all..
I just wanna confirmed that am not inviting a big crash.... :lol: :lol: :wink:

so pls help...

why need title?
its not gonna be a big problem m8.. dont worry..but then why do u need to do it often? are u running an institute that trains ppl in formatting and other h/w stuffs? :? else id advice u to not fiddle with partitions for fun

As long as u stick with softwares like partition magic ,u r safe from crashes.
But resizing takes time and m8 hope u r running with a backup power ..coz a power failure during resizing partitions spells DOOM for ur os & data.

hey there...

@Blacklight::-- bingo ...buddy fired on rite place... actually was resizing my 11 GB partition a week before.. suddenly power went of though i have UPS (19 min) but still not enough.. i could do nothing but just cry in fron of PC :cry: :cry: and when power resumed.. my partition was ful of errors and data was converted to file????.chk .... 33400 .chk files....
so i can do nothing just format it... lost whole lot collectuion of wallpapers and movies... so now onward i partition in NIGHT....

@Bharat:-- :D :D buddy no institute .. but what happens is i have 10 GB partition for Video songs .. i keep getting new so once its full i reduce space from oe partion (say songs) for this... after somedays when i get new songs.. i reduce some space from other partition and add to songs.. these keep going on,,, so cant help.. :) :) even my HDD is on 40 GB...



anyways... guys.. thankx a lot for ur suggestion...

u are absolutely safe as long as u properly partition using a good Partitioner.
However try to redusce ur frequency of partitioning as
sometimes making too small a partiton can affect u r some booting as these files are permanentll stored in the HD & cannot be moved.
