folks i hav a dataone broadband connection and was usin utstar300r2 modem but lately it has started showing signs of over usage . i bought a new netgear dm111p modem . had been tryin long for gettin it connected in vain . the internet light doesn just glow . settings are all fine 0 & 35 mtu 1483 . diagnostics show ppp server failure but i am able to connect using utstar. i use a laptop and connect it through ethernet port .

Attitude matters
Netgear DM111p is known to be problematic. You may refer to *www.thinkdigit.com/forum/showthread.php?t=70343 where another digitician is having problems with the same modem. You are well advised to return the modem to the seller and get a Dlink or any other modem which is known to work with BSNL broadband.
