Help needed regarding Lan stuff

hello everyone... i am quite in the field of networking... want to practice on a LAN but i don have appropriate enviourment i mean.. i don have PC's. i have sound knowledge of IP addresing DHCP, DNS ( don have net too). can anyone suggest some software to create a Virtual lan on a single system. is there any????

ya vmware create virtual lan computers when u install each new operating system..

so i think u can install 2-3 operating systems and then test ur knowledge..
