Help Me! My PC drops dead!!
My System is a:
Intel Pentium 4 1.9Ghz('Willamette' Core) with 256KB L2
Intel Desktop Board D845GLVA with Onboard Graphics & No AGP slot! [Sweet!,isn't it!]
512MB DDR333 MHz running @ 266Mhz
Samsung Spinpoint 40GB HDD @ 5400RPM (PATA)
Sony CD Writer - CRX230E
Sony 1.44MB FDD
Two Additional Fans(Front Panel fan,Exhaust fan)
I'm Planning to add 2 components:
Sony Dual Layer DVD-Writer - DRU820A
A 7200RPM (40GB or 80GB) PATA HDD from (Seagate or Western Digital). - for Linux

The system is powered by a mercury SMPS(which came with the Cabinet)
The total power output as mentioned on the SMPS is 300W.
With 20A on the +3.3V Rail
30A on the +5V Rail
10A on the +12V Rails respectively.
Now for the past 3 days there is a problem,
Sometimes the system switches off randomly while working(Even though I'm a die-hard gamer
I'm not playing any games now). This has happened 6 times so far(including 2 times when I
switch on the system it goes down!then I switch on the system it goes down!).Each time
it goes down I had to switch off the SMPS(The switch at the back of the cabinet) and then
switch it on to power up the system else it won't power up!.
And when the system drops dead, everything inside the cabinet goes down(including the fans)
except the power LED at the front panel of the cabinet and the green amber on the motherboard.

What is the source of the problem? Please Help! and please tell what to do.
Because I don't want my system to go down like this when I'm in the midst of my online
exams!.

10A across 12V seems uber low .. i'd suggest u to upgrade the PSU (could be dying due to capacitor ageing) ... even a el-cheapo I-box 400W psu should suffice ....
