Mine is an old computer.. my processor is amd athloon 2000 xp. My mother board is asus a7n266vm. have 512 mb ddr ram and geforce 2 onboard graphics and got and onboard sound card of nvidia.

Recently i purchased a graphics card - Asus V952-x. its an 8x card and my agp slot is 4x. After doing a fresh instalation of xp, i installed the drivers got from the motherboard cd. next i installed Nvidia Forceware 91.47. but after reebot, when it reaches 2 desktop my computer hangs.. everytime it does so. when i removed my graphics card the problem is solved. if i dont put my motherboard driver and only the Nvidia forceware driver then also the system works but without sound, for sound i have 2 install the motherboard driver. if i instal that then system hangs after reebot

the motherboard driver consist of single installation file for chipset, display and audio.

what should i do???

have u installed xp sp2 ? i dunno wat exactly may be the problem but i think u need newer chipset drivers .try downloading newer chipset drivers . first install chipset drivers , then install all other drivers ...by any chance is ur graphics driver for ur onboard gfx conflicting with those of the gfx card ?
