Help me!!! with Debian Woody Installation....

Please help me Debian users...

I am stuck in the middle of no where...

I have successfully installed debian woody with instructions from the site : www.aboutdebian.com and i have reached at the shell prompt...

But I am unable to go into the XWindows...
I am also unable to install the selected packages using dselect...

Plz help me with tuts...

My Dear friend just select the right graphic card that can only solve ur problem,
for this i guess u need to reinstall it(*But I m not sure about this)

To get your X Server up and running try this utility: xf86config , just be sure to select your proper graphics card and refresh rates of ur monitor.

# dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86 might also help

If you have some high end graphics card then you might need to get its appropriate drivers from vendor

What happened GNUag? you suddenly left...

Well, the problem is yet to be solved....

I tried many things but still not working....

Please help me... dudes and dudettes...

Anyone in Chennai can contact me directly...

As i said before it happens only when u configure a wrong graphic card for ur system so run command that GNU hv told and configure the appropriate card .
but i still think that in configuring x server through command gives u option to select ur graphic card again

Hey, I cannot be online on Yahoo messenger, or else i'll get fired at office :) :) :)

as regards to your graphics card, you said that you're using the VESA driver... just change it to your appropriate graphics card from xf86config and your X-Server will start working fine...

Tried .. but no driver for INtel 865 there... The only ones are Intel 810, 7xx and 6xx

May be some where on the net where I can d/l the same?
